About
Water Skiing in Goa

Water
skiing is simple and easy for those who know how to swim and balance well..
Water skiing is almost like snow skiing, just that here you don't have
mountains but a vast expanse of water. So the trouble of finding a smooth
slope does not exist. It becomes even easier if you know how to swim in the
ocean, which requires more effort than swimming in the pool because of the
strong ocean currents. If the excitement gets too much then you have always
the option of leaving the towrope. It is a great exercise for your body and
strengthens up the muscles of your hands and legs. A strong rope is attached
to the boat and the skier is asked to hold on tight to the rope at the other
end, while he balances himself on a pair of skis. The most popular water
sports in Goa and many beaches have the facility to provide this sport.
These beaches include Aguada Beach, Colva Beach, Candolim Beach, Calangute
Beach, Miramar Beach and Benaulim Beach. Bogmallo Beach Resort, Cidade de
Goa and Taj Hotels in Goa are perfect places to engage in water skiing..

Some Tips
Beginners in this sport get nervous and sea sick. But once you acquire the
sense of balance, you may find riding on the as a piece of cake. You should
let the driver/observer know you are all right after a fall, by clasping
both hands above your head. Water-skiing is very tough, so you should get
your basics right. If you find the excitement becoming too much, you always
have an option of letting go the tow-rope if the excitement become too much
for you. Water-skiing, in fact, is a good exercise to your body.
Ensure that there is another observer on the boat besides the operator. If
waters are rough, you should avoid skiing. Choppy seas prevent the boat from
maintaining a steady course and speed. It's best if you go over the hand
signals with the operator to avoid miscommunication and confusion. If you
are a first timer, then you may get seasick.
