
Reaching Goa is very easy because this Indian state of Goa is well connected
by air, road and the sea from all major cities of India.
Road: National Highway 17 ( NH 17) passes right through
Goa in a generally north south direction. Apart from being the atrial road
of the state , NH 17 connects the northern and southern states around Goa
like Maharastra, Karnataka and even Kerala.shtml"> Kerala. Within
Goa NH 17 passes via major towns like Panaji and Margao. Parallel to NH 17A
in the east west orientation is the new NH 17B. This highway connects the
Goa airport ( Dabolim airport ) with harbor. NH 17B joins the main highway
NH 17 at Verna. The Bus Service named Kadamba Transport Corporation. MSRTC
and KSRTC operate frequent bus services between Panaji, Vasco, Margao and to
Bangalore, Belgaum, Gokarn, Hubli, Karwar, Kolhapur, Malwan, Mangalore,
Miraj, Mysore, Pune, Ratnagiri and Vengurla.
By Rail:
Goa is connected with Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Secunderabad, Tirupati via Londa
junction on the Mirage-Bangalore sector of south central railway, and to
Mumbai, and Mangalore on the Konkan Railway Corporation section. Convenient
stations are Margao/Vasco and Karmali. The high-speed Konkan Railway is your

It starts
from Mumbai, via Miraj and Pune, has a daily train and takes around 8-9
hours to reach. The rail route also has trains, which travel past Mumbai -
in the north to several areas of India upto Delhi and in the south up to
Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Goa has two major railway stations ? Margao
and Vasco-da-Gama, both located in the southern area of the state. The South
Central Railway terminus is at Vasco-da-Gama and the Konkan Railway terminus
is at Margao. A word of caution; this train is in great demand, so if you
intend to use it, make your reservations well in advance.
Air: Goa also has flight schedules with almost all the
major airline operators. All Goa flights - national and international, to
and from Goa - operate from the Goa Airport at Dabolim near the port town of
Vasco-da-Gama. The airport is about 30 kms away from the capital of the
city, Panaji. The airport is owned by the Indian Navy. Major airline
operators such as Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Sahara Airlines, Spice
Jet, Air Deccan and Kingfisher Airlines have flights plying in and out of
Goa.
Sea: Several ferry services are also
available. A few shipping companies operates boat service between Mumbai and
Panaji.
